How to Set-up up Outlook 2000 to access your Email account:
 
 

1. Go to the "Tools" pull-down menu, and select "Services".

You will see a screen like this.

2. Click the "Properties" button.

3. Select "Internet E-mail" and click "OK".

You will see a screen like this.

4. Enter the following information.

Full name - Enter the name that people will see when they receive email from you.

E-mail address - Enter your email address.

Internet Mail server - Enter your incoming mail server: "mail.yourdomain.com".

Account name - Enter the username you entered when you created the email account in your control panel.

Password - Enter the password for the account.

5. Click on the "Advanced Options" button.

You will see a screen like this.

6. In the "Forward all outbound mail to the following mail server" field, enter your ISP's outgoing mail (SMTP) server.

7. Click "OK".

8. In the "Internet Mail" box, click the "Connection" tab.

9. Select your Internet connection.

10. Click "OK".

1. Go to the "Tools" pull-down menu and select "Accounts".

2. Click on the "Mail" tab.

3. Click "Add".

4. In the "Display name" field, enter the name that people will see when they receive email from you. Then click "Next".

5. In the "E-mail address" field, enter your email address and click "Next".

6. Enter the following information.

My incoming mail server is a - Select "POP3".

Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server - Enter your incoming mail server: "mail.yourdomain.com".

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Enter your ISP's outgoing mail (SMTP) server.

7. Click "Next".

You will see a screen like this.

8. Enter the following information.

POP account name - Enter the username you entered when you created the email account in your control panel.

Password - Enter the password for the account.

 

Make sure the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" option is NOT selected.

9. Click "Next".

10. In the "Internet mail account name" field, enter your incoming mail server: "mail.yourdomain.com".

11. Click "Next".

10. Select the kind of Internet connection that your computer uses. It's often convenient to select "Connect using my local area network (LAN)", even if you use a modem to connect to the Internet.

11. Click "Next".

12. Click "Finish".
